A beautiful surface, a mural, color, form and texture-- living with these things gives us solace from the harshness of our world. The crucial thing that I do as a decorative artist is not just slinging paint and plaster. It is to make people feel more comfortable, more connected to their surroundings. In working through that process, I am more joyful in my own world. My objective as a muralist, painter and decorator is to spread beauty, defined not only in how it looks, but also in how that makes you feel. It is to make art to live by.
As a decorative artist, I strive to express the aesthetic sense of others as well as my own to the best of my ability. I can express my client’s joys and hopes and sometimes even their sorrows through my murals and embellishments. Some environments are effectively adorned by subtle color and texture. At times my objective is about creating art that touches a very personal place--perhaps a reminder of an old friend or an experience that has enriched one’s world or a token from a place that is loved. Be it elegant or whimsical, beautiful and meaningful surroundings can give you strength.
As a fine artist, I have the opportunity to share my own personal take on the world, where splendor abounds in the simplest things. In my animal portraits, I enjoy capturing the animal’s personality, memorializing the essence of their wonderful existence.
